Description

Smoky patchouli, supple leather, and oakwood come together in a darker, richer reinterpretation of the iconic Tuxedo. Yves Saint Laurent Tuxedo Extrait de Parfum opens with radiant bergamot, vibrant pink pepper, and saffron inspired by YSL’s Ourika Community Gardens, creating a bright yet spicy contrast to the fragrance’s deeper character. At the heart, Damascena rose and green violet leaf meet a luxurious leather accord before transitioning into the star of the composition: patchouli macerated with oakwood using an emboisement technique inspired by French cognac craftsmanship. Vanilla absolute softens the smoky, woody base with a smooth warmth, leaving behind a deep, leathery and subtly liqueur-like trail. Darker, smokier, and more intensely woody than the original Tuxedo, the Extrait pays tribute to Yves Saint Laurent’s revolutionary black tuxedo of 1966.
